How to view Chinese text
All pages containing Chinese text in this web site use Big 5
encoding. You need Chinese systems, Chinese fonts, or other Chinese viewing
assistant programs to do so.
General Information
Microsoft Windows 95/98 and NT
- Use Microsoft Windows - tranditional Chinese version.
- If you have English version of Windows and have Netscape Communicator/Navigator
or Microsoft Internet Explorer, you can install Chinese fonts in your
Windows and you will be able to read Chinese text. You can follow the instruction
listed in (http://people.netscape.com/ftang/communicatorfont.html).
[Hint: If you use Netscape Communicator,
after you download and install the fonts, you have to change font to the font you just
installed for Traditional Chinese in Edit/Preferences/Appearance/Fonts. Select Traditional
Chinese in For the Encoding and set the correct font for Variable Width
Font and Fixed Width Font.]
