On behalf of the TBA, reverend Jan Hai signs the contract to purchase 37979 FM 2979 Hampstead land, which consists of 512 acres of forest land. The title of the land was transferred to the TBA afterwards.

Reverend Hung I announces the establishment of the Bodhi Center Committee. Consisting of six members, the Committee is in charge of the development of Bodhi Center.

The Bodhi Center purchases the road from Mellman road to the entrance of the Bodhi Center.

Architect Yu briefs the Board of Directors about the planning of Bodhi Center. At the same time, the Board of Directors agreed to adopt the planning map of the Bodhi Center. The first stage of construction, which is mainly composed of Zen hall and Homage-paying hall, is also given a green light.

Reverend Hung I, architect Vincent Hsu, and engineers James Chien-I Chang, Huey-fong Chang, and Ron Liu pays a visit to the building site of Bodhi Center. The road to the south entrance is only a temporary one.

Reverend Hung I and Bodhi Center Development Committee finishes selecting the Architect Selection Committee for the phase one of construction. The deadline for the selection is Dec 31.
